Center on Social Movements and Gender Issues

The Center on Social Movements and Gender examines how disempowered groups influence the political process. Social movements, which encompass civil society or, more generally, non state actors and issues of gender and the means in which those issues influence the political process, are on the agenda.

Some areas of study include (but are in no way limited to):

- Non-State Actors (such as Not for Profit organizations)
- Social Movements, such as the Zapitista movement in Central America
- Gender Issues and Elections
- Gender Issues and Society

We welcome all research on these topics.
